Home automation + Pets = Endless Entertainment

There are many benefits to having an automated house, energy savings, security protection and awareness, convenience and safety.  Originally my goal was to automate the lighting in my house because my dog Ebbie is starting to go blind.  The system allows her go outside without my aid.

We found another benefit, a game similar to "hide and go seek".  By using the system to remotely play a dog "squeaky" toy sound at different points of the house, our dogs hunt for the sound with reckless abandon!

Darth Vader

Recently my wife and I purchased a mini Darth Vader for a family member.  I think I was more excited to see (and more notably hear) the mini figurine than the life sized version at CES 2015.  Both were impressive but the mini version is easier to travel with.
